What is TUINA?
1.TUINA is the body of manual techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 2.TUINA is one of the three main branches of TCM and shares with TCM theoretical and philosophical basis. 3.The development of TUINA is strictly connected to Acupuncture History and to Chinese medical thought. 4.Today in China TUINA is taught at TCM University; there are Tuina departments in all the hospitals. 5.TUINA had influenced Japanese Shiatsu schools, contemporary foot reflexology, finger-pressure techniques and micromassage. 6.TUINA uses many kinds of manual techniques (i. e. tui-push, na-grasp, an-press, massage, rub, tap, shake, etc.) in order to regulate yin and yang, to move qi, or to act on channels and zangfu. 7.The aim of all these
techniques is to prevent illness and disease and to preserve psico-physical
health; and in case of energetic unbalance or disease to stimulate recovery
and natural wellness in the body.
